Dear friends,
Thanks. No seriously, thanks. I appreciate each and every one of you, all three of you. I'm not going to name anyone in specific, so that'll keep you guessing as to who I'm talking to. I want to go through individually and give you reasons as to why you're so important to me, whether you realize it or not.
Friend number one, and yes, there is a reason you're first. You'll know right away if I'm talking about you or not just by this statement right here, you have been my friend for literally a decade. A decade. Isn't that insane? So much can happen over time in ten years, and you stayed with me the entire time. We've had countless petty arguments, some very laughable ones I would say. Our friendship is actually funny to look at, you've dated my brother, cousin, and ex. Why are you still my best friend? Because you're my entertainment. Just kidding, sometimes, but seriously, you're my best friend because nobody else has stuck around when I fell apart, and you loved my presence even when I didn't want to be present anymore. Words do not describe the love and care I have for you, no homo (I still have that card where you said that). Even better now? We work together. If you haven't figured out it's you yet, well I guess that explains half your life because you're not the brightest, which is why I previously said you're my entertainment.
Friend number two, we don't talk much, which is fine, but when we hang out, it's like time wasn't even a thing. We begin to conversate like there wasn't a moment where we haven't seen each other. Maybe that's because the two of us such at small talk, who knows? Our friendship had a wonky start, I must say, but I'm happy with where we are today on our journey. Like friend number one, we also have our inside jokes. Remember when during large group emsemble constantly roaming the school instead of watching others perform? Ah, now you've identified yourself. See? You are important to me, don't you ever forget that. Friend number two you inspired me in so many ways, right now the biggest way is changing my physical health, vegetarianism. No, I'm no solely doing it because of you, but the idea planted in my head because of you and that inspired a healthier lifestyle. When you read this, you should message me and we can create more amazing memories, although they'll never top orchestra class.
Finally, friend number three. Okay, this last friend probably does not read my articles, which is okay, I don't blame you. I guess online articles aren't your thing if you just made a Facebook account in 2017. Nevertheless, I still need everyone to know why you are important to me. Not only did you help me skid by high school, and by skid I mean help me with everything and I literally got straight A's, but you also helped me learn a little about friendship. Friendship wasn't about the people you hung out with after school, friendship is about the people you make memories with no matter what. Remember the time I took you to a Cardinals game, then you willingly went to my uncle's funeral with me? You have no idea how much that meant to me. I'm so appreciative that you supported me in my time of grief, and I'm sure you noticed this one hit me really hard. I'm sorry I didn't contact you much after I went off to college, but I'm glad you messaged back when I needed you when I broke my violin, oops. Anyways, thank you for teaching me the true meaning of friendship.
People come and go into your life, and that's okay. All you need is three people who you know are going to be there for you when you need them, all you need is three people to create those small inside jokes that trigger an entire day, all you need is friendship. No matter how much of a misanthropist you claim to be, you can't deny one human instinct, we hate being alone. So, go out and talk to that girl sitting by herself in the mall food court. Go ask that guy who looks confused if he needs any help. You never know who you're talking to, such as a future best friend, or an even bigger leap, a future spouse.
