It's that time of the year again—everywhere young adults are getting ready to go back to school and start his/her fall semesters.

Interesting though, that while half the students are buying condoms, another large percentage is getting talks from their parents, rape whistles and mace. Every student who has taken the required summer modules know the basic, "have a buddy," "pour your own drinks," "don't walk home alone."

But the real cause of rape, is rapists.

The amount of victims do not spike in summer, when people are showing more skin, because this is not a sexual crime, but one of violence and power. Below is a video that sarcastically portrays this point very well. We all have the power to end the violence.

However, what we currently need to focus on, is to not teach "don't get raped," but don't rape. Let's hold perpetrators accountable for their actions.
