Two years ago I went on a date to a trampoline park with a guy I met on Tinder, and now my life has changed forever. Although my story is bazaar and somewhat humorous, my journey to full recovery has not been easy. After spending all four months of that summer in a neck brace, I grew depressed and unconfident. I was robbed of my independence and I hated that I had become such a burden to everyone around me. Because of the severity of the injury and recovery that it entailed, I had to medical redshirt my junior year of swimming. From that moment on, I viewed my life differently. I personally witnessed a miracle and not only was I lucky enough to walk and live a somewhat normal life, but I was given a second chance to swim and compete at the school I love.
