It is said that football is America's sport. Everyone gathers around the television in their jersey's filled with excitement.

While everyone else is going insane with the touchdowns and penalties, you are most likely sitting there bored to tears! Football just isn't your sport. You don't understand the lingo, the plays, who is who and who you are supposed to be cheering for. Really, you are just looking forward to stuffing your face with chicken wings, nachos or pizza. The only really good part of the game is seeing your friends act insane whenever their team does something good or bad.

Here are some thoughts that go through your head while watching the football game with everyone else.

1. Wait, who am I supposed to be rooting for again?

2. Where are the snacks?

3. How long is this game?

4. Is it halftime yet?

5. What do you mean there isn't a halftime show? Then why are we even watching this?

6. I can't wait for the dancing they do when a touchdown happens!

7. These football players sure hit each other in the butt far too much.

8. I would literally be willing to do anything else.

9. Oh, I think everyone is going to cheer now.

10. *looking around the room at friends who are football fans* Okay, now I think I should cheer.

11. wait, what is the line of scrimmage and the yellow first-down line?

12. Halftime is so freaking long!

13. Do these sports analyzers have to talk the ENTIRE halftime?

14. I think I should have another slice of pizza.

15. I should have bought cake.

16. We need more nachos.

17. There has to be a strategy to the plays they make, but every single thing they do looks exactly the same to me.

18. Ouch! that looks like it hurts!

19. I really don't think they need to pile on each other so many times like that! That just can't be good for their bodies.

20. Do we get to see Peyton Manning in the Papa John's commercials yet?

21. At 9:26 p.m., only 11 minutes were left in the second quarter. It ended at 10:05 p.m. Since when do 11 minutes take 39 minutes to play out? What is this sorcery?

22. These jerseys are actually really cute and comfortable.

23. The coaches' reactions are so funny. The camera should show those more often.

24. What language are these broadcasters even speaking? It can't be in english.

25. Is this game over yet?!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
