Everywhere you turn you will most likely see or hear something relating to the election. There's lots of talks about some Bernie supporters voting for either the Libertarian party candidate, Gary Johnson, or the Green party candidate Dr. Jill Stein because, to them, Hillary Clinton becoming president is equally as bad as a Donald Trump presidency. While I think it's unfair to claim that third-party is a wasted vote and while I think that the people should have the ability to vote third-party, this years election is not the time to do so.
In order to not be all words and no proof, I'll provide proof of my statement (with credits and all!). As of writing this, August 25th 2016, the polls (using the Quinnipac poll) shows that Clinton is at 45, Trump 38, Johnson 10, and Stein four. That means that Clinton is only ahead by seven, and it's also important to note that the President isn't actually elected by the winner of the most votes but rather the candidate that has 270+ electoral college votes (this is shown by the Gore v Bush 2000 electoral college votes, thus Bush became President).
This election has far too much on the line, the polls are too close together for voters to become stubborn and decide to protest the system. A Trump presidency is a presidency that will take the U.S back to a time where only few had rights. Whether you genuinely believe that a Hillary presidency is the just as bad a a Trump presidency, that is just not the case. Clinton will work with Bernie Sanders on policies, Trump will not. Clinton will successfully negotiate (as proven by her own political experience) with the Republican lead House on issues so that both parties are happy. Trump will only work with what he wants. This November, when you head on over to the polls to vote, vote for Clinton. But, if you still want to vote for third-party, go ahead. But don't do so thinking that they're going to win because polls show that not enough people are voting third-party to get them to win.
