Think Positive, Be Positive

Positivity is key.

Think Positive, Be Positive

I try to live my life with as much positivity as possible. Yes, I still get down on myself and focus on the bad sometimes, but overall I would have to say I don’t let it bother me too much. I have had a lot of people ask me why I’m always so happy? That they never really see me upset. To me this is a strange question because as human beings shouldn’t you want to strive to live the happiest life you can? Like I like being happy, what is so wrong with that?? People have gotten away from seeing happiness as a good thing, instead they think what is wrong with that person? These days though it seems like there is always so much bad and it can be hard to see the positive in life, so here are a few ways to have a more positive mindset on life.

Positive mind = Positive life = Happiness

1. Stop focusing on the past

I mean it stop. What happened in the past is exactly that, the past. Too many times we tend to focus too much on what HAS happened and not what COULD. The past has our mistakes and failures, which we beat ourselves up about and can’t seem to move past. LET IT GO. I know it is easier said than done, but trust me once you do, you will see the change. Looking forward and getting rid of the weight of the past will allow you to live a happier life.

2. Optimism

Has something ever happened that just threw your whole day off? Trick question because it happens to all of us, but how you deal with it can separate you from everyone else. When something bad happens, or something to just put you in a funk, don’t let it. Focus on the positive things you have in your life or something that went right that day. We are our own worst enemies when it comes to the mind. Especially if you are an over thinker like me. Instead of dwelling, read some positive quotes, tell yourself “Today will be a good day”, or listen to some uplifting music. BE POSITIVE.

3. Focus on the Good

Nobody has a perfect day. There is always going to be that one thing that could throw your day off, but whether you let it or not is up to you. In every situation, try to see the good in it. Don’t always jump to the worst conclusion, because in all honesty it is not going to do any good. Just changing your perspective can change your whole life and the way you live it.

4. Do what makes YOU happy

It is your life, live it. STOP trying to please everyone. There is always going to be someone who doesn’t like something you do and they will tell you about it. Let it go in one ear and right out the other. It is not their life so therefore they get no say in how you live. Unless it is your mom, I mean she did give birth to you and she will never let you live that down. One of the hardest things is trying to live your life by everyone else’s standards. The sooner you realize your opinion is the only one that matters, the better life will become.

5. Smile MORE

It is a proven fact that it takes less muscles to smile than to frown, so why not smile? This is a little thing I like to call “fake it till you make it”. This phrase was invented to literally fake happiness until you are, and trust me it works. If you pretend to be happy everyday and you smile a little more each day you WILL become happier. When you smile, you will cause someone else to smile, which will cause someone else to smile and so on. Once you start to realize that certain things don’t matter as much as you thought, you will let the little things go. Through it all you will become a happier and more positive individual, which is what most of us want anyways. Plus you can never really smile too much, can you?

Positivity is the key to a happier life, are you willing to do what it takes?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
