Things To Tell My Fiance

Thank you for accepting me as I am.

“The best love is the kind that awakens the soul; that makes us reach for more, that plants the fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds. That's what I hope to give you forever." The Notebook

I love you.

I love how you value family above all else. I love that you are passionate about the things that you find important. I know that we may argue over other stupid things, but just remember I love you. I love the way your eyes light up when you are talking about your newest Xbox game, even though most of the time I have no idea what you are saying. I love the fact that you take care of me when I am sick and you consistently make sure that I have anything and everything I need. I am thankful that you understand my love for Blake Shelton and when I found out he is releasing his last album, you comforted me until I stopped crying. (The amount of tears involved here was ridiculous).

I am super excited to start our journey together.

I have always hoped that we would make it to this point in our lives and I am grateful to see that you wanted us to make it this far too. We have been through many different obstacles together and I am thrilled to see that we were able to stay together through it all. You push me to be my best at all times and I try to push you to be yours. We are consistently challenging each other, in the best ways, and I can’t imagine living the rest of my life with anyone except you.

I am so sorry for the wreck that I am about to become.

You know how difficult and stubborn I get when I am trying to plan things out. You also know how stressed I am when I have to make important decisions, yet you still want to stay around. I am warning you about my behavior in advance because I want you to know that no matter how crazy I start acting while I am planning the wedding, I am still without a doubt in love with you. If at any point in the planning process I get crazy stressed, just remind me that everything is okay and then feed me pizza. Because let’s just face it, we both know that pizza is the way to my soul.

In a few short months, I am going to be able to call you my husband and this brings me so much joy. You are everything that I have ever dreamed of and I am so happy that we will be together for the rest of our lives. As we venture into this crazy world, just keep in mind that I will always be there to catch you. I know there will be many different obstacles that we will face, but I have a feeling that we will make it through.

With the most love, your future wife!

Parks and Recreation excitedly gathered around a laptop at a table in an office setting.

The library. Club lib. The place every college student goes when they want to try and be a productive member of society. Who better to explain your experience than Parks and Rec?

1. When you've finally found the energy to leave your dorm room and walk into the lib like

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
