If you haven’t noticed already, I am a diehard. I love Kentucky Basketball. So much that I regularly capitalize “Basketball” to honor it. I know, I know. I’m crazy, but I love my Cats. What else can I say? Here are a few things to look forward to this basketball season:
1. The possibility of a National Championship
UK is a serious title contender this year. Crazy. I am not going to miss a single second of it.
2. Knowing that we are seeing future NBA players
I love that I get to say that I remember seeing NBA players play at UK. I love that they usually come back to UK to visit. I love that UK puts so many players in the NBA. BBNBA!
3. Bonding with the BBN
UK sports is family bonding to me, with my biological family and my BBN family. I love the memories and laughter that it brings. Already this season, I was watching a game on tv. The announcer said that a player on the team (who shall not be named) likes to cook. I overheard a girl giggle and say, “He can cook for me anytime!”
4. Singing “My Old Kentucky Home” at the end of games
I love UK and I love Kentucky. Singing “My Old Kentucky Home” at the end of games is a great way for me to remember and to reflect on why I am at UK in the first place. It is a way for me to express my love for this state and school.
5. Eating ice cream at Rupp Arena
It’s just yummy. Enough said.
There is something for everyone at a UK game, no matter how much of a fan you are. It is a great experience that you don’t want to miss. Enjoy every moment of this team and season, because it will be gone faster than you think.
