They say Home is where the Heart is.. Well my Heart Belongs in what most people call the Middle of nowhere well the truth is it’s Not the Middle of nowhere it’s Southeastern Colorado.
I know what your thinking that’s still the middle of nowhere and the Cattle outnumber the Population yes that might be true but that’s the awesome part about Our Part of the State, Agriculture is Everywhere you look, even though We might do things a little different from the Rest of the State Agriculture is diverse and it’s part of our everyday lives..
Life in this part of the State wouldn’t be as amazing as it is without Agriculture in southeastern Colorado we would all be lost for those of you who don’t get how important Agriculture truly is well, I guess I can shine a little light on the subject.
First of all if you don’t even know what I’m talking about when I say the Word : Agriculture well here’s the real Definition,Agriculture is the science, art, or practice of cultivating the soil, producing crops, and raising livestock and in varying degrees the preparation and marketing of the resulting products.
But that’s only half of what someone Could do with a Degree in Agriculture, it’s not just about Tractors Cows Plows and Sows.. I know what your thinking ” Yeah Right” Well the truth is that almost every Job involves Agriculture in some way shape or form. You don’t have to be directly involved in the Worlds Largest Job providing Industry in the nation to know that your food doesn’t come from a Grocery Store. It’s a long Process but it helps you understand in greater detail where your food comes from I’m definitely not going into great detail because People against Agriculture and the way we do certain things will probably try to Persuade you that we are wrong with our practices that we use or the way we Raise Livestock is Just inhumane… Well let me tell you something those against Agriculture Just want to make this industry that provides Food, Fiber and many other things that most people take for granted, is what keeps us going so those few people that are going up aginst an industry that is growing beyond our own expectations, Just don’t understand that This industry not only is the Largest Job Providing Industry in the nation but it’s important and without it we wouldnt be where we are now…
Now that I’m done Teaching you about how important Agriculture Truly is. Maybe People who live in Larger Cities in just not only Colorado but in the United States will finally understand the Real Agriculture.
When people outside of Agriculture Education think of the term owls they think of a nocturnal animal that feeds on insects and rodent. However, there is another way to think of owls. Owls are the symbol for Wisdom and For Some of the greatest Teachers Everywhere. If we Didn’t have the Great Opportunity to be a part of your Ag Classes and Wear that blue corduroy Jacket that has been in style since 1928 we definitely wouldn’t be where we are because of you we can say that you Changed Our lives Left us with the ability to change the world and you gave us the opportunity to Learn from some of the best.
God made Owls because he knew that he needed someone to Teach the Next Generation about The Land and the Food that this industry provides So God Made Owls
God Made Owls because he knew that he needed someone to Be There for those people who go through hard times expessaily when it comes to their Students he made owls because he knew that everyone in this world goes through hard times and he made owls to help us endure through the Storms of this life So God made Owls.
God needed somebody to teach us how to use our Hands to make a difference in the world and to help us get our Hands Dirty They Taught us Not only how to get Dirty but How to Work efficiently and think clearly with such knowledge And skill as I can secure and in the ability of progressive Agriculturist to serve our own and the public interest in producing and marketing the product of our toil.So God Made Owls.
God Made Owls because he needed someone to be A Mentor and a Inspiration to help us Find Motivation to go for everything we ever dreamed of and to never underestimate the power of the impossible because nothing is ever impossible unless you believe that it is impossible for you to accomplish .
So God Made Owls, Because he knew that everyone has a Purpose and when God Helped you find your purpose in life you knew that you where in this Creear for something more than just the income but you Choose to be an Owl Because you knew that you Would not only enjoy it because of the moments where you were Successful but because you believe in us..
Our Little part of the State in What Most People Call The Middle of Nowhere.. For me it’s where I Grew Beyond Everyone’s expectations, I’ve Learned Life Lessons from Some of The Greatest People I’ve ever Meet. I’ve learned that “Success only Comes to Those Who Work Hard for What They believe in” and That Showing Strength in the Middle of A Storm of Life Is Pretty Easy When You Have Plenty of Courage and strength because I’ve learned to never underestimate the power of the impossible because Nothing is Ever impossible it’s only impossible when you feel inadequate and when you don’t believe in yourself.
This is the Place Where I Found myself
This is the place where I Found my purpose

This is the Place where I Meet Some of the Best FFA Members
This is the Place Where I Found my Love and Passion For Agriculture Because down Here That’s What We Do and That’s Become a part of me and that Part of me will never Fade
This is Where I Found my Future…
This is the Place Where I Grew to Love Animals… Plants and even Grass.
This is the very place where I Found my inspiration and This place is Where I Learned About The Largest Job Providing Industry In The Nation and because of that This is Where I will Stay…..
“Have I not Commanded you , Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” ~ Deuteronomy 3:16
Sow righteousness for yourselves, reap the fruit of unfailing love,
and break up your unplowed ground; for it is time to seek the Lord,
until he comes and showers his righteousness on you.
When looking at a tiny seed, it is impossible to see what will bloom from this minute speck of nothing, -the color it will produce, the bloom or fruit, or how large the plant will be. There is vast potential locked within, that under the right circumstances–planted in good soil, watered and covered in sunshine, a miracle will happen. The seed transforms into something more than itself–it gives birth to a plant that blooms and brings beauty, life, color and a fruit–and this is a miracle-almost something out of nothing.
Sometimes the seeds that He requires us to sow, do not obviously promise anything–yet, we are asked to believe in the potential–the latent miracles inside of these small life-seeds.
We are to sow with a view to righteousness–not seeing or knowing totally the vast potential of what is in our hands. But ours is to be faithful to sow, by faith, the seeds of promise given to us–
to cast the seed of promise into the soil of life, generously, diligently, faithfully–
We have to grow in the soil of life and stand secure and strong to overcome the odds and wind storms of life.
“Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains.” James 5:7
3 years ago is Truly When I Found my purpose in the Agriculture Industry. One day a Year ago Exactly this Day Was The Start of a long Turning point The thought of being a Ag Teacher and FFA Advisor Wouldn’t have crossed my mind if it wasn’t for the opportunity to learn from some of the best Ag Teachers out there.. Thank you Colorado Ag Teachers and Ag Teachers Everywhere for Contributing to your Students Successes and Helping Them Achieve Their Goals. Without People Who Teach Us about the Agriculture Industry We would be lost without you in our lives Because of you guys and E. M. Tiffany We wouldn’t be able to say these words that mean so much to FFA Members across the state and nation “I believe in the future of agriculture, with a faith born not of words but of deeds – achievements won by the present and past generations of agriculturists; in the promise of better days through better ways, even as the better things we now enjoy have come to us from the struggles of former years.
I believe that to live and work on a good farm, or to be engaged in other agricultural pursuits, is pleasant as well as challenging; for I know the joys and discomforts of agricultural life and hold an inborn fondness for those associations which, even in hours of discouragement, I cannot deny.
I believe in leadership from ourselves and respect from others. I believe in my own ability to work efficiently and think clearly, with such knowledge and skill as I can secure, and in the ability of progressive agriculturists to serve our own and the public interest in producing and marketing the product of our toil.”
Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness. For we all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body. If we put bits into the mouths of horses so that they obey us, we guide their whole bodies as well. Look at the ships also: though they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are guided by a very small rudder wherever the will of the pilot directs. So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great things.”
“Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth. This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice. But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.” ~ James 3-18
I Understand that Ag Teachers Don’t get paid enough for all that they do and you probably think that we Should be doing something else that involves more Money but I’m sorry to rain on your Parade but We Don’t do What we Do or Major in Somthing just for the Income. We Do it Because We Care And Love Agriculture and FFA not Because it’s Something that we were forced into.
So As an Ag Ed Major Myself Understand your Concern but Anyone Can Dream and Just Know That We Are powerful beyond measure the size of my income doesn’t Matter because I’m Doing Something That Has and Will make Me Happy For the Rest of my Life.
F-E-A-R has two meanings: ‘Forget Everything And Run’ or ‘Face Everything And Rise.’ The choice is yours. You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do. Keep Dreaming Don’t Stop Believeing in yourself just Because Someone Doesn’t think your Dreams are Possible in the Grand Scheme of things the people who don’t Believe in you don’t matter So don’t stop Believing in yourself And Start Living your Dreams Because its Your Life ,Your Aspirations and Your Goals” The world is filed with people who will point blank not like what you do who you are or what you want to do with your life but there are people who love you more than you could ever imagine, Don’t waste your time trying to convince people of your value.
This is just another amazing part about Southeastern Colorado that makes living in Baca County as Special as it does.
