After another glorious weekend of college football, I seem to find myself disagreeing with the AP top four. I'm not trying proclaim myself as some football analyst wizard. I just can't help but question their decision making. Some teams in the CFB world are not getting enough credit while others are being smothered with it. Strength of schedule, points allowed, and overall play is what i factored in to making this top four. This will be the most accurate top four you will ever read this season.
No.1 LSU
The tigers have played to the high standard that was predicted in the pre-season. Leonard Fournette has shredded defenses with the help of one the best O-Lines in the country. They have carved out their spot as no.1 because of their strong schedule and dominant defense that ranks 15th in the country according to the NCAA's
statics. Brandon Harris is the unsung hero on the LSU's offense. The true sophomore QB has found his role in the tiger's run first offensive attack. His passing yards aren't flashy but his most impressive stat is zero. Which is the number of interceptions he has thrown this season according to ESPN . If the tigers can make it past Alabama, then i expect a second national championship for the mad hatter.
No.2 Baylor
Baylor has to be the most exciting team to watch this season. The bears put up "Video Game" numbers every week. I am not sure if it's the level of competition or the power of their offense that allows Baylor to breeze by opponents. The number of points that Baylor allows to be scored upon their selves is why i rank this team number two. I love watching them but according to the NCAA the bears defense ranks at a measly 62 nationally. Having a defense ranked that low brings too many doubts to the table for me to rank this team at No.1
No.3 TCU
Trevone Boykin is the most dynamic QB in the nation. Hands down my pick for Heisman. His numbers speak for themselves
. He's throwing five touchdowns for very one interception. TCU has had it's back to the wall numerous times this season but the pressure didn't effect Boykin's play in the slightest. He threw a last minute TD at Texas Tech to help the horned frogs avoid the upset. TCU has not played on their level for a whole game expect for against Texas.Their lack of defense is why this team is not ranked higher. Also level of competition isn't the most credible.No.4 Michigan State
Unlike Baylor and TCU, Michigan State has to be the least exciting team to watch. They have a dismal offense that gets bailed out by their top-notch defense. Even with such a lack luster offense, Michigan State keeps on winning. And winning is the most important stat your team can have. Ohio State is the only bump in the road I see for sparty. If they find a way to win that game then expect green and white to be lighting your screens in January.
There it is, take it or leave it, this is best ranking you will see all season.
