The 6 Kinds Of People You Meet At Parties
Sweet Dreams

It's Friday, or Saturday night (or in some cases, even Thursday night) so you are out with your friends. You are having a good time, and meeting all sorts of people, like:

1. The Blacked Out Freshman

This is the girl, or boy, who has had just a little too much. They are easy to spot, as they can be found running around, doing the kinds of things that are not usually socially acceptable, being obnoxiously loud, dancing in ways that make you cringe, or sharing information that most people don't want to know. If you can, find their friends so they can make it home before they do anything that they will regret.

2. The Party Mom

Commonly a girl, but I guess it could be a boy, who is the most sober out of a group. She is constantly trying to gather her "children", also known as her friends who have probably had enough to drink. She is the one that makes sure everyone makes it home safely, drinks enough water, and takes away the not-needed drinks. Going out without her is not really recommended, but if you choose to, best of luck.

3. The Social Butterfly

You have probably seen this person around before, or at least it seems like you have, because they seem to be everywhere. They introduce themselves to you, to the person next to you, to the guy upstairs and the couple on the porch, perhaps even more than once. They ask you about yourself, what your major is, what year you are. And by the end of the night, this person has a bunch of new numbers in their phone, now whether or not they'll remember who you are, is another story.

4. The Prospective Student

You can usually spot this person because he or she looks scared, out of place, and perhaps even uncomfortable. When you talk to them, they are usually embarrassed to be a prospie, but if they tell you, they've heard how college students try to show prospies a good time.

5. The Waiting Senior

They have been to plenty of parties during their college years. They have seen it all, now they just want to do more adult things, and go to the bars. But first, they must spend some time participating in the college party scene, until it is late enough to head off to the bars.

6. GNO (Girls Night Out)

These are a group of girls that decided that this is their well-deserved night out. Chances are that at least one of them is upset with a boy. You can find them dancing in a group, taking all sorts of pictures to share on Instagram the next morning, or holding hands in a line as they try to find the bathroom.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
