Eli and Peyton Manning.
The two brothers have been elite quarterbacks in the NFL since Peyton entered the league in 1998, but now the Manning era is entering an end.
Or is it?
Peyton retired in 2016 and left the game of football with two Superbowl rings and a load of records making him undoubtedly one of the greatest quarterbacks to play the game.
His exit from football was like a love story. Peyton finishes his last season with a super bowl win to step into retirement on a high note.
But Eli might have to step away differently.
Currently, Eli is on one of the worst teams in football, the 2-10 New York Giants. Manning has been accused of being washed up. So much so that the 36-year-old football player was even benched for a week, breaking his 210 game start streak.
The Giants are a dead team with an old quarterback and it leaves the question:
What's next for Eli Manning?
If Eli walks away from football today, it is impossible to think he would not be in the Hall of Fame. He has four pro-bowl appearances along with two Superbowl wins, where he was Superbowl MVP in both.
He has sealed a trip to the Hall of Fame.
But, Eli’s struggles concern people for what his legacy will finish like.
His brother Peyton, had the same issue before retirement. Peyton Manning was not good and was holding the Indianapolis Colts back from becoming a better team.
Peyton was old and needed a team with a good defense that could carry him to another Superbowl ring.
Peyton jumped ships to the Denver Broncos where he was able to win them a ring and walk into retirement with a beautiful legacy.
And it looks like it's Eli's turn to do the same.
With how horrible the Giants are playing, they are certain to get an early draft pick. A pick that could get them a new quarterback to rebuild with.
But where would Eli go? Retirement? No.
Eli Manning needs to go to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Jaguars are currently 8-4 and a middle of the way team.
They have the best defense in the NFL and one of the new upcoming stars as their rookie running back.
The only thing that Jaguars are lacking is a consistent quarterback, and this is where Manning comes along.
A perfect fit.
The Jaguars have a defense that is ready to win a Superbowl and a running back that will take the ball out of Manning's hands when needed.
All Manning has to do is perform slightly better than Jaguar's current quarterback, Blake Bortles, and the Jaguars will be certain contenders for a ring.
Looking at the past and what Peyton was able to accomplish with the Broncos, it almost seems like destiny that Eli is in the same situation.
Manning will start for the Giants again for the rest of the season, but after that point, it is a mystery where he will land.
Until then the Giants will remain a bad team and the Jaguars will be waiting for a hopeful quarterback to lead them to their first ever ring.
