To the girl who deserves the world,

Somewhere you’ve learned that you aren’t good enough. Someone told you that you weren’t pretty enough. You weren’t smart enough. You weren’t worthy enough. Somewhere along the way, you learned to believe them. Not only did you believe them, you convinced yourself that these lies were the truth.

Somewhere along the way you began to settle. You began to think that you didn’t deserve the best. That you deserved anything bad that happened to you. You began to think that you better just live with whatever was happening.

The light that was in your eyes began to dim. You stopped believing that you’d meet someone. You stopped believing in love and the idea of ever finding it. You stopped caring about the things that mattered most to you. You stopped caring about the things that made you love life.

You became so numb and stopped feeling the pain, the joy, and the excitement. Everything just seems like it just happens. You go through life so motionless, almost lifeless. It’s like you’re living someone else’s life.

Because somewhere, someone told you that you didn’t deserve everything you ever wanted. And suddenly, that voice went from that stupid voice of a stupid boy or that stupid family member or that stupid friend or whoever that person was, to a voice inside your own head repeating these words, repeating these lies.

Somewhere along the way, you let someone else rob your definition of beautiful and you stopped believing you were. You stopped believing that you deserve the best in this world.

So I’m here to tell you differently. I’m here to counter that voice in your head telling you those lies. I’m here to help you see those things that everyone else sees about you. Because girl, there’s so much about you and if you can’t see it, it’s going to be hard to believe that person to falls in love with every part of you.

Don’t be afraid to love the person who comes along and tells you that you are beautiful every day. You might not believe it, you might not see it, but at that moment, what you deserve is right in front of your eyes. You deserve to be loved in the most beautiful of ways, to be shown that love every day and to make sure that every hard time is forgotten because it’s no longer relevant. You deserve the world, sweetheart, and it’s going to come with time. Just let yourself love when the time feels right.

But somewhere along the way, you stopped appreciating yourself. You gave up on yourself, on your dreams, on your wants and your needs. You need to put you before everyone else. It’s okay to be a little selfish sometimes, honey.

So before you can meet a person, who is out there waiting to meet you and love you with the whole world, it’s got to start with you.

You have to change the way you think. Change that dial in your mind. You are pretty enough, or smart enough, or good enough. You have to tell yourself every day, this is what I deserve. Because it is.

I know it’s hard to be selfish, but something has to change here. It has to start with you.

Because you are pretty enough. You are good enough. You are worthy enough. You are the only person who can build yourself up and it needs to start now. Don’t let the judgement of others rain on your parade, keep on shining and working on yourself.

It’s an uphill fight but somewhere along the way, you have stop resenting yourself and all that you are and start loving yourself for all that you are. You are who you and that’s not going to change. Embrace it, flaunt it, and live it up.

Somewhere along the way, you have to realize that you are beautiful and you deserve everything that you’ve ever wanted.

It’s out there. It’s possible. Your head has just been down too long to see it.
