The Big E is the known as being “New England’s Great State Fair," which individuals and families attend annually in the state of Massachusetts. It’s something you shouldn’t miss out on! This fair usually occurs the last couple of weeks of September; it’s a perfect event to start off the fall season.
One of my favorite attractions and the Big E are the state houses. There are sandwiches, soups, snacks, drinks, and desserts at each New England state house in that remain popular in their home state. Some friends and I went his past weekend and here are the best of the best we tasted and would definitely recommend you try if you haven’t already.
New Hampshire: The corn on the cob
Maine: The lobster roll
Vermont: The caramel apple
Massachusetts: The chili cheese dog, apple cider donuts, and clam chowder in a bread bowl
Rhode Island: Coffee Milk
Whether you're craving something including fresh seafood or a sweet, these state houses will not let you down. Along with these attractions, there are vendors, the food court, and many other places where you can purchase unique and tasty dishes. For example, in the international building there was a station for a one pound meatball, and I didn't get it. Why? I don't know, but I'm deeply regretting that decision. I guess I'll just have to wait until next year!
