Dearest big sister,
We have come a long way since playing with Polly Pockets and doing cartwheels in the backyard. Who would have thought 10 years ago, we would be where we are right now?
By the time you read this, you will have accomplished your life-long dream of graduating from Ohio State University. As I sit here reflecting on the past two years, I realize how lucky I am to have gotten spend your last two years with you at Ohio State. I am overwhelmed with the amount of love and kindness you have shown your two little sisters, even when it was hard to.
In your third year at Ohio State, I came in like a wrecking ball as freshman -- scared to be so far away from home, and uncertain of how I was ever going to make it. Most kids are not lucky enough to have the all-knowing big sister attending the same university, but me -- I guess I was one of the lucky ones. There is no doubt I could have made it through the ups and downs of being in college without your guidance and support.
You were always there for me with every annoying question I asked. You planned out my schedule for me. You took me under your wing and showed me the greatest parts of Ohio State and even led me to a sorority full of amazing people, money could not buy. I can't thank you enough for setting a foundation for me to have a wonderful experience in this extraordinary place.
I am so grateful to have been able to live with you in your senior year in college. I think this year has capitalized on the idea that all of us sisters are as close as it gets. Living together in college has formed a strong bond between the three of us that will never fade and so has Ohio State. If it weren't for you making the decision to go 8 hours away to a place where you didn't know a single soul, I don't think I would have had the courage to go to Ohio State.
College can be hard and I know that you have had to deal with many ups and downs too, but in every low you have encountered you have come out on the other side of it. Your hard work has payed off and, thankfully, you will be in Columbus a couple more years so I won't have to say goodbye.
I am so lucky to have been able to share in one of your dreams with you and I can't wait to see you live out the rest. The best and most beautiful days are ahead of you.
"There's always something tomorrow... Here comes the rest of our lives."
Go Bucks forever,
Sydney
