Between the pumpkin spice lattes, flannels and the collective changing of summer bikini profile pictures to the ones of you throwing leaves up in the air and fake laughing, it’s clear to see why fall is the the favorite season of basic girls everywhere. The cherry on top of this pumpkin spiced sundae? Halloween. This is the time of the year where girl squads around the world compete to come up with the most basic, unoriginal costumes everywhere. Feeling stuck and can’t decide how basic you and your friends should go? Here’s a starter list!

Cats

Simple and easy to put together with results that don't disappoint. Bonus points if you caption your insta post of you and your feline friends with "Gettin' Catty."

Mean Girls/Clueless

For those with a certain number of people, go with the classic, OG basic squads like the characters from Mean Girls or Clueless. Feeling bad? The Heathers are probably a good pick for you then. Whichever Silver Screen Squad you pick, you know it'll be fetch.

Starbucks Drinks

This one SCREAMS basic...pick your fav Starbs beverage, write it down, get with your other Starbucks lovers and there ya have it!

The Disney Princess Squad

Another popular Halloween costume idea for a squad. Blondes go with Cinderella, Aurora, Rapunzel, etc, the Brunettes/Dark Haired Gals go with Belle, Tiana, Jasmine and Snow White and then your designated Ginger and Asian go with, you guessed it, Mulan and Ariel (or Marida idk your life).

School Girls

Is it really Halloweekend if you don't dress as a school girl at least one of the nights? No? Didn't think so.

Angels and Demons

A popular option for you and your other hot single friend to tag team as. It's easy (literally one of you wears white and the other wears red), cute and very insta-worthy. Going to a Halloween zip tie? You'd be crazy if you didn't dress up as angels and demons.

For those who are lazy but still basic. Pros: no pants! Cons: your legs are gonna be freezing.
