To my best friends,
Thank you. You have been there for me during the best and worst parts of my life thus far. I could not imagine having to go through these times without you. A shoulder to cry on and a laugh guaranteed to happen. I am so fortunate to call you both my people.
Here's a little background on how I ended up with my besties. I met Taylor my freshman year of high school. She was in 8th grade and dating my brother. My mom would pick us up from high school, then drive to Taylor's middle school to pick her up. Every time she came over, she refused to eat dinner. I would torture her for it and she hated me. Somehow we grew close from me being mean, but hey, whatever works, right? I met Rachel at my first job when I was 16. A friend of mine brought me chicken nuggets and I offered to share with Rachel. Instant friends. I mean, I was pretty generous sharing food, so she should be grateful.
Having best friends a year younger and two years older is pretty cool. I get to experience different things with both of them. I'm able to shed light on my experiences for Taylor and I can learn from Rachel's. We're at different stages in life, yet we still understand each other. We may not always see eye-to-eye, but I know you both will always support me. You encourage me, love on me, and show me the true meaning of friendship. We have drifted a time or two, but somehow manage to find our way back to each other.
Honestly, I have no idea why God picked these two awesome people to be my best friends, but I am so thankful He did. I couldn't ask for better because "better" simply doesn't exist.
So, if you have the chance to talk to your bestie(s) today, tell them thank you. They don't have to put up with you, but they choose to do so. You are very lucky to call them a friend.
