I don't know where I would be without you.

A Thank You to Softball
Msecnd.net

Throughout my whole childhood, softball consumed most of my life. I started when I was about seven years old and now I am so excited to continue to play in college. This one is for you, softball. Thank you for supporting me and teaching me more about myself and life.

Softball, you have taught me to never take advantage of my abilities. I have been hurt multiple times while playing, but always did the best I could to play despite the pain. Last year, I found out that I tore my labrum again in the same shoulder where I had surgery done. It was a difficult and frustrating period of my life because I knew that if I had surgery again, I would be out for the whole summer, hence hindering my chance to commit for softball. But I made the decision to keep going and ignore the strain because I knew that I absolutely wanted to continue playing in college. I discovered this new sense of determination and strong willingness I did not even know I had within me. I learned that every time I am on the field, it is another chance that God has given me.

Along my journey, I experienced what it truly means to be a part of something greater and larger than myself. I have discovered what it is like to have more sisters than I could ever imagine having, and what it means to share a sincere and deep bond with thirteen other girls.

Softball has taught me things that I would never read in a book or learn from a class. It has taught me teamwork, leadership, and how to surmount adversity. This sport has taught me to embrace failure, because more often than not, you are going to fail. However, your ability to persevere, work hard, and pick yourself up will ultimately define what you do, how you play, and eventually how you live out your future. Softball has pushed me in ways that I could have never, ever imagined, physically, emotionally, and mentally preparing me for any ups and downs life throws my way.

Thank you for showing me that I am far more capable than I give myself credit for. Thank you for teaching me commitment and the importance of hard work. As I enter a new chapter of my life, I will use everything you have taught me and apply it to every aspect of my life. I owe it all to you.

Yours Truly,

Amanda Kim

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
