Lacrosse can be a tough sport.
It's a team sport, so it can be difficult to cooperate with your teammates on the field, or staying positive when you are losing, but positivity is contagious! If you are positive and motivating, your team will rise to the occasion.
Injuries can be setbacks, just as much as losses can be. After an injury my junior year of high school, I persevered and worked my way up to be captain my senior year. You have to be a role model for your teammates and that means being positive in hard situations. Nonetheless, you have to find the good and success to outweigh the evil. If you think you are going to lose, you will, but if you stay optimistic, yet realistic, you could pull off a solid win!
I remember my senior year when we lost to a team we thought was “bad", so we came thinking we would win. We did not play our best and they walked all over us. After this, we learned to never underestimate your opponent.Do YOUR best!Don’t worry about the other team: focus on your team!
We had to overcome this setback, so we decided to set goals and stay accountable for them. We pushed ourselves that season and ultimately beat an undefeated team. Continuing our win streak, we got awarded the league title.
I continue to play club in college and enjoy the sport of lacrosse. Throughout these past years, a lot of sweat, tears, and effort were used. I look back at my lacrosse career and I have learned a lot about teamwork, the game of lacrosse, and life.
I learned to never take any task lightly, to always push myself, and most importantly, success comes from failures. By having a positive attitude, you can accomplish anything. Failure is inevitable, but it isn’t about failure, it is about how you act after you fail. That is success.
