There comes a time in the year when the assignments start stacking up, midterms feel like they never end, the class material becomes difficult to understand, and you’re wondering how you even made it into this school in the first place.
Then you’re declaring a major, starting upper-level courses, and new and more demanding social commitments come flooding in. At this point, even an agenda and an assortment of gel pens can’t sort out your life for you. When will I have time for my naps, mental breakdowns, anxiety attacks, and Netflix binges?
Next thing you know one of your friends is mad at you, you have boy drama, you have too much on your plate, and you’re so stressed that you’re left feeling like a failure.
It’s hard to remember, but you are doing the best you can.
You are only human.
A support system is a vital piece to life. A support system is what picks you up when you’re down and what lifts you even higher once you’re already there.
Thank you to my support system for picking me back up.
They say that your high school friends are only for four years, but I know that mine will be for life. I’m so grateful to have a group of people who are ALWAYS there for me no matter what. They give me tough love when I don’t want to hear it, and comfort me when I need it. They are always reminding me where I’ve come from and how far I can go.
I’m very lucky to have parents who support me in all that I do and who always want the best for me.
Thank you to my sisters for letting me be my weird genuine all of the time. I am so thankful to know that not only are you a phone call away but that you’ll come right over to hold me in your arms.
My roommates are amazing people who listen when I need to talk and just hang out with me when I don’t. They always want to know how my day is and then celebrate my little achievements with me, even if it is something as little as getting out of bed the first time my alarm goes off (Thanks, Rachel). They even bring/make me food when the last thing that I want to do is eat.
I’m so appreciative to be living in the sorority house and constantly be surrounded by endless support and positivity. These girls genuinely push me to be the best me.
Thank you to my support system.
Thank you for reminding me I’m not alone in this battle called life.
