Russell Westbrook is one of the most demonstrative people in all of professional sports. Over the years he has given us some real gems, and I think he reacts to what happens to him like how we would like to react to what happens to us, if only we were as expressive. So, without further adieu, here are 10 times where Russell Westbrook summed up exactly how we feel.
1. When your wingman sets your bro up perfectly but he drops the ball.
We have all seen it happen. It's not pretty. He crashed and burned. You put a good word in for him, all he had to do was bring it home. But he froze. He choked. You're left wondering how he missed such a perfect opportunity.
2. When you and your homeboy can't decide how to dress for your first college class.
There you are, first day of school. You're dressed for success like your parents taught you, while you can already tell the kid coming in behind you is done with the semester before the first class even starts.
3. When you do all the work in a group project yourself and your group gets an A.
That time when you were the only one to plan enough time (or actually care enough) to get the project done. Or, when the rest of the group remembers the project five minutes before it is due but they figured out you did it and have it to turn in anyway.
4. When you can't get away from getting asked if you finally have a girlfriend.
We have all been through this every Thanksgiving and every family reunion. You aren't even able to finish telling everyone hi before the questions start firing and you wish you were back at school, at home, in a box, on a boat, just really anywhere that isn't in your family's crosshairs.
5. When you are way too excited about intramurals.
It finally happened. You hit your first three of intramurals. Who cares if you missed your first 37 and you had to bank it for it to go in? Who even cares that your team lost every game and is down by 48? You hit a shot, you're the man and you're unstoppable.
6. When you wake up late for class and have to go in whatever you slept in.
Alarm's blaring, its 9:07 a.m. and your class started at 9. You just gained consciousness and realized you have to take the walk of shame to class looking completely homeless. Its okay though because you walk in and realize that 80 percent of your class looks just as rough as you do.
7. When you completely whiff on the simplest thing possible.
You know what your friends are going to tell you. "You had one job!" or "Nice one bro." You knew, at that moment, you'd messed up.
8. When you look good, and you know it.
You dressed up, went all out and you nailed it. You have your swagger going and nothing can stop you. You are on your way a great night, and the sky is the limit.
9. When your friends ask you how last night went.
The last your friends saw of you the night before you were leaving the party with the girl of your dreams. Even though she completely shut you down and you went home and cried after, your bros don't have to know that.
10. When you come home for summer and finally see your best friend again.
It was horrible. It was catastrophic. It was your GPA. But it's okay, because last semester is behind you and you finally get to go home for the summer. You get back in town and see your best friend, who has suffered just as much as you, and you both share in a hopeful embrace of the adventures that await in the class-free months to come.
11. Uhmmmmm.........
Okay, I've got nothing. Just, wow. We can't relate. Do you Russ.
There you go. Russell Westbrook, outgoing, effusive and unreserved. Not everyone can relate to all of it, but we can all relate to some of it.
