We know how you girls work. You spend weeks planning with your girlfriends to have the perfect group costume that screams hot, but you don’t want to be caught looking like basic white girls dressed like cups of Starbucks coffee, do you? With the spooky holiday coming up around the corner, desperately searching for the perfect costume can be frightening. Fear not! We have been running up some super trendy and killer costumes for you and your girl squad to rock the block this Halloween.

1. The Purge

You and your friends can dress to kill this year with this sultry look inspired by The Purge movies. It’s a pretty simple look to pull off using a lot of your own things you have at home in your closet. Go for a somewhat sophisticated look, like you just got off of work and are ready to purge. Or go all out and throw on a little fake blood to make it look like you have had a long night of purifying your soul. Either way people will look twice when you and your crew stroll down the block.

2. The Phases of Britney Spears

Oops…we did it again. Although this look has been seen before on Halloween night, you and your friends can still rock it. You and your friends assign each other a look from one of Britney’s iconic pop performances and channel your inner Britney. A few suggestions could be the flight attendant from Toxic, the sassy school girl from Hit Me Baby One More Time, the fierce ring leader from Circus, or the legendary Slave For You outfit with a big yellow python around your neck. Not real of course, unless you like the idea of a giant snake wrapped around your neck.

3. Risky Business

Just take those old records off the shelf and head out Halloween night feeling comfy but cute. Inspired by the movie Risky Business staring Tom Cruise, you and your friends can slide across the floor just like he did in your button down shirt and socks. This is probably the most simplest look of all, but everyone will love when you and your friends strut in the party with some risky business to take care of.

4. KISS

Rock the house down with this hardcore look inspired by the legendary band KISS. Round up four friends and put on some black leather and some face paint and you’ll have people asking for autographs all night. Throw up a rock and roll sign and stick your tongue out every now and then and your all set to rock and roll through this night with your band.

5. Spice Girls

Spice up your night by dressing up as the iconic Spice Girls with your entourage. Everyone loved this girl group in the 90s so why not bring them back this year? Grab your gals and dress as retro as possible with some track suits, leopard print, go go boots and tube tops. You’ll be feeling unstoppable with your girls and wanting to make the night last forever, because friendship never ends!

6. Mean Girls

What better way to spend Halloween night than by dressing up as the most popular girls in the school, the plastics. That’s right, you and your friends can wear pink on Wednesdays just like Regina George and her clan of Barbies. If you want to make your costume more funny and go all out, get another friend to tag along with a video camera and pose as Mrs. George, Regina’s “cool” mom. If you really want to pull out all the stops, get a pink folder or notebook and design your very own version of the well-known Burn Book.

7. Baseball Babes

You and your friends are sure to hit a home run with this costume. Who doesn’t love baseball, and baseball pants? Instead of wearing the pants, just throw on a pair of jean shorts with a baseball jersey on top and some knee high socks. Carry around a baseball, glove or bat if you really want to add to your costume. Either way you will have all kinds of boys wanting to take you out to a ball game and buy you some peanuts and cracker jacks at the end of the night.

8. Three Blind Mice

These child hood fairy tail talking mice took a more seductive turn as they got older. You and your friends can play the roll of three blind mice this year. Grab and pair of dark shades, a cane, and dress head to toe in black and roam around the night as blind as a bat. Fair warning, don’t actually close your eyes, thats what the dark glasses are for.

9. Frat Boys

Sorority girls can step into the boys shoes this Halloween as they trade in their Lilly Pulitzer dresses and Jack Rodgers sandals for a pair of chubbies and Sperrys. Round out a group of sisters and ask your former frat friends for some outfit pointers on how to pull off the ultimate frat boy look. Keep it preppy with a tucked in collar shirt with a sweater tied around your neck, or go for the sloppy party look with a pair of shorts, an untucked button down shirt and his favorite hat. You’ll be the hottest boy on frat row.

10. Victoria’s Secret Angels

Earn your wings this Halloween with this totally cute costume. No, we’re not talking about becoming a pilot. We’re talking about a Victoria’s Secret model…duh! What girl grew up not wanting to be a model at some point in their life? Well this year is your year to strut your stuff down the block with a pink silky robe from Victoria’s Secret pair with a crisp white pair of angel wings. Curl your hair and do your makeup and you and your friends will trick everyone into thinking you will be walking down the runway this year in the fashion show.

Now that you have some ideas of what to dress up like, go make a group message with a few of your closest friends and decide which costume best describes you and your posse. Whether your going out to kill, or keeping it sweet and innocent, you and your friends will have the time of your lives this year if you put some thought and time into your costumes!

Happy Halloween ghouls!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
