Dating as our parents’ once knew it is completely different. Commitment is becoming more and more scare in our generation. Commitment seems to no longer be the norm. Step 1: ESTABLISH YOUR WORTH
I have learned over the years that men are quite slow with picking up on hints that we ladies give them. If you do not make them understand you then they never will. Sorry to break it to you, but guys are just not as smart as us ladies. Whether you're having trouble getting him to commit or you’re just feeling unappreciated, you must break it to him loud and clear. But before you can do that, it is imperative that you know your worth and wants. You have to (as a woman) establish your worth. If a man can have you after dinner and gifts, then he is not going to see the need for you to be more. You have to uphold your standards and know your worth. Now ladies, remember the saying “I can show you better than I can tell you” applies to your actions and self-worth.
Step 2: HAVE THE CONVERSATION
Sit him down and have the conversation. Ladies, you have to be brave, honest, and objective when you break it to him. Let him know how much you have enjoyed your time together, where you are at right now and where you want to be. Let him know exactly what you want and be as specific as possible—do not hold back. If he sees that you are serious and passionate about this then he is going to listen to you. He is going to consider what you are saying and try to imagine what you are proposing. Give him reasons as to why you want more. Guys like to know how you feel. They like to know that you care and that they mean something to you. So make those things clear.
Just a small tip: if this conversation will be in person, which it should be, if you can then you may want to remember a few talking points if you are not so good with confrontation. Now for you ladies in a long-distance relationship, you can even write your talking points and use that as a guide for your conversation if you need the extra help. Do whatever works for you ladies—get your man on board!
Step 3: PLAN FOR OUTCOMES
Now that you have laid it all out on the table, do not forget to prepare for best and worst possible income. Have a game plan for your next steps if he says yes, as well as be ready to move on to meet the one who deserves if this guy says no.
