"What are the magic words?"
How many times did you hear those words when you were younger? Anytime anyone took the time to think of you and offer you something--a lick of their ice cream cone, a present on your birthday, or even just a hug--you'd feel a tap on your shoulder and a nudge from your parents with that heralded phrase.
At that time, it probably felt as though saying those couple of words was an expectation, one that you might have met with an eye roll or a shrug. The person who gave you the gift knew you were thankful for it right? You didn't need to say it explicitly.
Now that you're older, you might realize that even though showing your gratitude was a wonderful way to say thank you to someone, those two little words were perhaps one of the best gifts that you could give someone.
For even though those two words are small and seem as though they have little value, the meaning behind them is one that is infinite, and beautiful. By saying those two little words, you are in turn letting that person know how much you love them, that you appreciate them being in your life, and that the love they provide you is appreciated, regardless of the way they showed that love.
So today, and always, take the ten seconds it takes to say that thank you, and spread some more love into the world each day.
