11 Struggles Of A Female Sports Fan

Yes, we like football, and yes, we know more than just what a touchdown is. To all the female sports fans out there, I think you can relate to the following.

1. Believe it or not, I don't want a pink or rhinestone everything.

I like my team and therefore actually want to wear team colors.

2. No, I'm not only here to plan the tailgate.

Contrary to what you might think, I actually want to enjoy the game. Food is not my only motivation.

3. Yes, I like football for more than hot guys in tight pants.


An interception or home run is way more attractive than some Spandex.

4. Surprisingly, I'm not spending four hours of my day watching sports just to impress you.

5. Yes, we understand stats -- just as much, if not more, than you probably do.

If we like a team, we are dedicated to it. Go ahead, ask us about specific jersey numbers, team standings, you might just embarrass yourself. I assure you I know what an RBI is and how to calculate it.

6. Thanks for the offer, but I don't need you to explain the rules to me.

I do know what a touchdown is, I do know what pass interference means, so no need to act like because I'm a girl I'm automatically ignorant to sports.

7. Wait, why won't anyone take me seriously?

This might be one of the worst. Hey, you -- what I'm saying is actually super relevant and insightful to the game, listen up!

8. Yes, I'm excited about the play that just happened, please don't give me that look.

All female sports fans have experienced that awkward moment when our team does something exciting, we have a freakout, and everyone in the room looks at you like you have four heads.

9. Yes, I promise I’ve liked sports my whole life; this isn’t a new thing.

There's nothing worse than being called a bandwagon fan for a team you grew up watching just because you're a girl.

10. The constant struggle of not having anyone to watch or attend games with.

When you find that one girl that loves sports, it's like Christmas day all over again.

11. At the end of day we just want you to fall in love with our team just like everyone else.
