Live life on your terms.

Stop Apologizing and Start Living
The Clyde Fitch Report

If you're like me, the first words that come out of your mouth are, "I'm sorry." It seems that we live in a world where we are constantly apologizing for being ourselves. The main question to ask is; why should we allow other people to control how we live our lives? Even if we make mistakes, it's all part of a learning process. Besides, if we didn't make mistakes, we wouldn't actually be trying.

In our world, we are constantly being compared to others. We feel that if we don't look or act a certain way then we have to apologize for being ourselves. This is certainly not the case.

Go back in time to the days when the only things you apologized for were spilling juice on your clothes or missing your best friend's birthday party. We weren't worried about being judged or trying to act a certain way. All we cared about was having fun!

Now flash forward to middle school and high school when our friend groups began to evolve and we were following trends that seemed cool. During this time, the apologies became more about ourselves rather than actual issues. The "I'm sorry I walked with her to lunch," and "I'm sorry I talked to your ex," were apologies that should never have been uttered. Just because your friend group doesn't associate with certain people, doesn't mean you have to obey their orders. Since when did anyone become the boss of you?

Why are you allowing other people to dictate how you feel and how you act? When did you become an image of someone else instead of a unique version of yourself?

Never apologize for who you are, where you come from, who you like, or who you want to become. You were put on this crazy earth for a reason and I doubt that reason is to apologize for being the amazing person you are.

The only time you should apologize is when you do not give your all. My goal for you is to wake up each and every morning knowing that no matter what comes your way, you are going to give the day everything you've got. You are going to push yourself to the limits, do what is right for you, hang out with the people you want to hang out with and, most importantly, you are going to love yourself.

Unless you've genuinely done something terribly wrong to hurt someone else, then stop apologizing. There is no reason to apologize for being human.

Love the person you were made to be. There are countless people that love and adore you. They look up to you and want to be just like you. Don't apologize for being yourself when someone wishes they could be like you.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
