Although it debuted on the Starbucks secret menu last year, I hadn't tried the Pink Drink until very recently and I only tried it because a friend ordered it and had me try a sip. From that very first sip, I became obsessed with this drink and knew that it would become my warm weather go to drink.
The Pink Drink tastes like a strawberry smoothie without the thick consistency of a smoothie. It is refreshing and light, making it perfect to enjoy with the warm weather. Also, if you think it is some complex mixture, think again. The Pink Drink is simply the Starbuck’s Acai Refresher mixed with coconut milk and topped with strawberries. Simple, yet tasting like Spring/Summer in a cup.
While the Pink Drink is the original, and the only one of the Starbuck’s secret menu drinks that I have personally tried, if strawberry is not your thing there are other options for you! There's also the Purple Drink, Blue Drink, Orange Drink and Green Drink. While I cannot vouch for flavor of these colored drinks, if they are anything like the Pink Drink I have no doubt that they are just as fantastic. It’s all up to your personal taste preferences.
The Starbuck’s secret menu has become not so secret due to social media. Drinks are posted, go viral and then the secret is out. You can find many different recipes on the secret menu from various sources by simply Googling ‘Starbucks secret menu’, showing that with Starbucks, the possibilities go beyond their actual menu and are endless.
Even though it has been about a year since the Pink Drink came about and started a social media frenzy, it still has relevance. There are obviously people out there that have yet to try it, that included me until recently. As the weather begins to warm this is the perfect opportunity to head to Starbuck’s and try something new - maybe that is the Pink Drink or maybe it is one of the many other options available to you on the secret menu. Even if you are a little late to the party, like I was, that does not mean you cannot enjoy your late discovery.
