If you're anything like me, walking into any store that is decked out for the holiday season gets you excited. Actually, November 1st gets me excited.
Specifically, this past week my friends and I decided to go to Starbucks the first day they released their famous red cups, and walking into Starbucks was like walking into Christmas.
If you know me, you know that I'm obsessed with Starbucks. I'm slowly branching into Dunkin', but a "venti iced vanilla chai with light ice" is my go-to. However, each holiday season, I'm all about my favorite holiday drinks! They only come around once a year, so why not enjoy them while you can? Here are five drinks you need to try this holiday season:
Peppermint Mocha
If you've had this you're probably astonished that someone hasn't had a peppermint mocha! Believe it or not, two of my friends had not had it. It's basically the PSL of winter. I'm not even a huge coffee person, but I love me a peppermint mocha.
Chai Tea With Chestnut Praline Syrup
Iced or hot, this drink is amazing. It tastes slightly like a Yankee candle, but if you're in the mood, why not? A Starbucks employee actually recommended this to me and as soon as I tried it, I was in love.
Hot Chocolate With Caramel (Or Peppermint)
This is so good! If you aren't feeling the peppermint after Christmas, caramel is a great go to as well! Also, pro tip: ask for chocolate syrup around the inside of your cup for extra-chocolate-y hot chocolate!
Caramel Brulée Latte
I wasn't expecting this to be good, but it surprised me! One of the standard holiday drinks with no extra additions. If you don't care too much for sweets, this is for you! It's a perfect balance of coffee and caramel, and though it sounds extremely sweet, it's actually rather mellow.
Peppermint Bark (Frappuccino)
Give or take the frappuccino, you can get this drink iced or hot! Just ask for a peppermint mocha at whatever temperature you prefer, then ask the barista to make it with half white chocolate sauce! A little more complicated, but definitely worth it. Peppermint bark is basically a Christmas necessity!
