The Stages Of Working Out

"Mmm, maybe tomorrow?"

If you're like me, then it's safe to say you have a love/hate relationship with he gym. Nothing beats that feeling after a great workout, but it's everything leading up to the completion of a workout that makes the whole process such a nuisance. The stages for me are as followed:

1. The sudden burst of motivation.

The sun is out, the birds are chirping and you et a whiff of fresh air. You decided "Today is my day. Today is the day I get a six-pack."

2. Trying to pick out an outfit.

What's the point of working out if you don't look cute doing it?

3. The dreaded drive to the gym.

On your way to the gym you can't help but think why. Why am I about to do this to myself? Is a nice body really worth the pain I'm about to endure?

4. Here come the excuses.

"You know, I have a lot to do today. And I'm tired. Plus I have plans later so maybe I should just go tomorrow?" Sometimes I have to hope and pray I will make it through a workout -- or that I can find a decent excuse before I make it to the gym.

5. But then you walk into the gym and now you're ready.

You walk into the gym, confidence at an all time high and you decide that you're ready for a killer workout.

7. Wait, what does this machine do?

When you walk up to a machine and you realize you have no idea how the hell to use it. Is it worth the embarrassment to try and figure out what to do or should I just casually walk away and pretend this never happened?

8. Food.

The worst part of a workout? When you remember you have a half eaten Chipotle burrito in the fridge and realize you're stuck at the gym.

9. Where is my six-pack?!

When you happen to casually still by a mirror at the gym and you realize that the set of abs you just did hasn't turned you into a Victoria's Secret model can be pretty frustrating.

10. Am I don't yet?

Working out can feel like an eternity, until you look at the clock and realize you've only been there for 20 minutes. You still don't have that killer body so what's the point? Why am I still here? 'Im done.

11. Post-workout joy.

Nothing beats that post-workout adrenaline rush. You completed your workout and you've never felt better! Can't wait for the cycle to restart tomorrow!

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
