The shift between winter and spring quarter can be tough. The weather shifting from rain to sun can be an adjustment in itself. The day-moon is bright and scary.
The time even shifts! You lose an hour of sweet, sweet sleep but you gain it in hours of after-school shenanigans. In-between this transition is a week of pure bliss and no schoolwork.
Living in beautiful Bellingham, we have so much stuff to do! Here’s a list of things Bellinghamsters do over spring break.
1. Cry about your finals.
Constantly checking MyWestern account to see if your professor put up final grades. Enough said.
2. Sleep.
Finally! No 8 a.m. classes, go to bed at two, sleep in till noon.
3. Finally clean your apartment.
You've been neglecting the apartment for the past two weeks, you forgot how to clean. But there's a mountain of dishes and you have no clean underwear.
4. Read for fun.
Read some Dr. Seuss, or some trashy romantic novel. Hey, "Fifty Shades of Grey" might be your thing. Good for you.
5. Road trip.
If you or a friend has a car, pack up food, lots of water and drive in a direction and don't stop till you find your bliss. It's a great way to get away from Bellingham and find a new place to check out.
6. Binge.
Eat. Drink. Smoke. Netflix. Whatever. Just enjoy yourself.
8. Try out all the Bellingham eats.
Keep it quirky; get a mimosa at Homeskillet or Mt. Bakery. The wait is long on the weekends but it’s totally worth it. #EggsBenedictIsBae.
9. Go hiking.
THERE’S RAPTOR RIDGE. RAPTOR RIDGE. RAPTOR.
10. Explore Vancouver.
So close yet so far. The city is huge, and parking kinda sucks, but there are tons of touristy things to do like Granville Island.
11. Adventure awaits!
No time restraints, my friends! Wear your comfiest shoes and go get lost. Who knows what you’ll find!
