Spring break is often considered a time to relax and have fun. It may seem like everyone’s going away to some tropical destination but in reality, they aren’t. There are plenty of fun things to do at home besides watching television and surfing the web. You can go out with your friends and take road trips, go shopping, eat out, etc.
But what if you feel like you’ve done that ad nausea? It may be time to switch things up.
If you’re in need of a change, it can often feel overwhelming to decide on new things to do. This is especially considering that once you’ve done something for such a long period of time, the habit is often difficult to break.
As hard as it may be to believe, you are not obligated to do something completely different to revamp your routine. Just a few simple swaps can make a huge difference.
For example, you can try taking road trips to areas you’ve never been to before. Shopping at stores in the mall that you don’t usually patron or small shops nearby. Eating at the new restaurant that just opened nearby. Reconnecting with old friends. Going out alone and meet new people may not be a bad idea either. Whatever you do, just try your hardest to keep an open mind. Don’t create an idea in your head of how you want things to be done.
Even if you want to do everything the same, it doesn’t have to feel it. You can still go to the same places you’ve been and get different things. Add a different flavor shot to your coffee, try on the pair of shoes you’ve been eyeing for weeks, order that salad you keep saying looks good and that piece of chocolate cake your mouth keeps watering for.
Freshen up your hair, use a different makeup palette, go see the new horror flick everyone’s raving about. Call your best friends to go out for a spa day or a walk in the park, depending on the weather where you live. If it’s too cold to go out, stay in and test out the cupcake recipe you’ve all been dying to try and fight each other for the batter. Please remember to clean up after yourselves when you’re done.
On your week off, and in general, it doesn’t matter what you do, it only matters who you’re with. Don’t worry, be happy.
