Time off from school and college basketball all together in one week seems like a bit too much to handle, but this year we get that opportunity. It’s March, so you know what time it is. This is the time that the casual fan starts asking what teams are good this year and what mascots are the coolest, and the die-hard fans are excited to see their favorite teams and players take on the best in the nation. We will get to watch the majority of this when we don’t have to worry about classes. How great is that?
Our two breaks are combined this semester, which means only one thing: Almost the entire NCAA Tournament (or March Madness) falls during our break. I hope you all have big plans ahead to help get your mind off of your rigorous schedules. March is one of the very best months of the year, and for good reason. The break starts March 17 and that is also the the start of the Round of 64 of the NCAA Tournament. The most important thing to remember is mixing in a good time, but still watching every minute possible of the games. With the vast expansion of the tournament, the games are now streamed on four different stations. This gives you the optimal opportunity to get all the basketball in that you need.
From Selection Sunday to the National Champion cutting down the nets with One Shining Moment playing in the background, you need to be there for every moment. The madness is real, and just when you think that this year can’t get any better, the basketball world throws you for one more loop. Whether the final four consists of North Carolina, Michigan State, Maryland, and Kansas or Xavier, Dayton, Hawaii, and Arizona, the tournament is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat. So sit back, and enjoy the ride. The most wonderful time of the year is coming.
