Gator football season is upon us and, if you are like me, this means it is one of the most exciting times of the year. I love football and will discuss it with anyone who will let me. However, I love a number of other sports as well. The University of Florida has numerous talented sports teams–after all, we are an “everything school.”
So if you are a sports lover like me, here are three sports games, matches and meets you should attend while you still have the chance.
1. Soccer: The Florida women are currently ranked #10 in the NCAA as they recently defeated the reigning national champions. Their next home game takes place on Friday, October 2 at 7 p.m. It is an away football game for the Gators, so make your way to Pressly Stadium and support the women as they take on Kentucky!
2. Volleyball: The Gator volleyball team is currently ranked #2 in the NCAA. They have just completed a long and competitive tournament in Hawaii and a game against FSU. Let’s pack the O’Dome for their next match on Friday, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m.
3. Swimming and Diving: Both the men and women just concluded their season opener this past weekend The next home meet will kick off Florida/Georgia weekend (Oct. 30) in the O’Dome at 11 a.m. If you haven’t left for Jacksonville and don’t have class, you should definitely make a trip to the pool.
If you have never been to one of these sporting events before then you should definitely check them out. Go Gators!
