An Open Letter To My Sorority Sisters

My beautiful, perfect sisters -- I cannot thank you enough for the impact you've had on my life in such a short time. You welcomed me into your sisterhood with open arms and have been by my side ever since.

To My Big: I want to thank you so much for choosing me as your Little. I am forever grateful to basically have a second mom. You are my heart and soul and truly the big sister I have always needed.

To My Best-Friend-Turned-Sister: Even though we had always said we were sisters, this sisterhood has brought us even closer. I never knew someone so similar to me would make their way into my life. You are my soul mate, future bridesmaid and lifelong friend.

To My Pledge Class: If it wasn't for you wonderful people, I wouldn't be where I am today. Your endless jokes and support have taught me the true meaning of sisterhood. You have been there for me when life is hard and when I just want to have fun.

To the New Pledge Class: I'm sure you've felt welcomed just as I did when I first joined this sisterhood, but I promise this is just the beginning. The love, acceptance and support is something that truly is more than four years. Don't ever take your sisters for granted because they'll always be there for you.

To Every Single One of My Sisters: Thank you. Thank you for teaching me that sisterhood is giving up a night out to make sure your sister is OK; never having to buy a dress for an event because there is a never-ending wardrobe being passed around; and that a sorority is nothing like what the stereotypes say. Thank you for proving to me that, although I didn't think it in the beginning, I am 100 percent a sorority girl, because being a sorority girl means being intelligent, dedicated, genuine and an overall beautiful person inside and out.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
