He said "I need girls willing to share their hair tips, makeup brushes, and favorite fast food restaurants. I need girls who will watch Netflix together until 3 a.m and who don't mind staying in on Fridays just to giggle and enjoy each others company. I need girls who will make a lifetime of memories while fitting as many half-drank Sonic cups they can in the mini fridge and covering their walls in pictures together."
Roommate picking is possibly one of the most nerve-wracking experience you go through in your college endeavors, but also the most exciting. You have the opportunity to meet your future best friends, sorority sisters, and possible bridesmaids. Living together for an entire year doesn't just make you roommates, but also a family. At least in my case it did.
I experienced how amazing roommates can be first hand this year. I went through a process much like a term known as "pot lucking." I met my roommates on a website much similar to online dating, thank goodness these relationships turned out better than most on match.com. Not a day goes by that I regret my decision to room with girls I had never met before, because I have truly met my best friends, and I could not imagine my college life without them.
I can't thank my roommates enough for excepting my need for mid-day naps and late night snacks, my love for random room rearrangements, and for laughing at all of my ridiculous jokes. I would be nowhere in life without their constant support and uplifting spirits. I came into college never having met them, and I will leave never being able to forget them.
Thank your roomies for keeping me strong when I want to give up, and for giving me hope when I think I will fail. Thank you for the late night Target runs and listening to me vent about the smallest things. Thank you for the morning wake ups when you know I shouldn't skip class again and the "i miss you" texts only twenty minutes after I leave the room. Thank you for all you've done and what I know you will continue to do, I can't thank God enough for making roommates...
