Bad days are an inevitable part of life, but still suck nonetheless. Luckily, there are easy things you can do to help cope with a gloomy day.
Take a walk
A bad day can cause a lot of stress and anxiety. A walk is a perfect way to get rid of any extra adrenaline you may be experiencing, or it can just be an excuse to get some time alone to gather your thoughts.
Eat chocolate!
There have been studies done over the years that lead people to believe that eating chocolate can make people happier due to chemicals in the brain, such as serotonin. Whether or not that’s true, a little chocolate never made a bad day any worse!
Take a nap!
This may not be the most productive way to deal with a bad day, but if you can sneak in a quick power nap, you should definitely take the opportunity. Sometimes you just have to check out and recoup.
Tidy up!
Sometimes being in a tidy space allows you to get your thoughts in order. Cleaning allows you to accomplish something, and you get a clean house in return. It’s a win/win!
Listen to music!
There are few things better than hearing your favorite song. Listening to music allows you to block out stress and just relax. It's a little vacation for your mind.
Do a craft!
This may sound like the last thing you want to do when you are having one of those bad bays, but doing crafts is actually extremely satisfying. This is another thing that can lead to the feeling of accomplishment. When you finish a project you not only get to keep it, but you have completed something, even on a bad day. Imagine that!
Drink coffee!
There is something very comforting about a nice hot cup of coffee, or even tea, for that matter. When you are in the midst of a bad day, sometimes stopping to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee is enough to make you feel a bit better, and a caffeine rush is just another bonus.
Just go to bed!
If you’ve made it to the end of a bad day, eat some dinner, take a shower, and just go to bed. You made it through a tough day, and deep down, you know things could be worse. Tomorrow is a new day, and things can only go up!
These things are simple and may seem a bit silly, but if you accomplish something, your day will almost instantly improve. It is important to remember that you are only human and will inevitably experience bad days, that’s just part of life. The important thing is to know how to deal with bad days and stay positive.
