Small Boobs, Big Problems

23 struggles of being a flat-chested woman.

Small Boobs, Big Problems

I am a firm believer in loving your body the way it is, especially the things you can’t change. However, I also believe that some women have a lot more to love in the chest region than others. The media has always glorified well-endowed women which makes us who are not so gifted feel like we're missing something or there's something wrong with us. Having small breasts can definitely have it's perks (haha, get it?!) but there's also many downfalls as well. Here are 23 struggles us not so well endowed women go through:

\

1. Not being able to relate to the great feeling of taking your bra off after a long day because it really doesn’t feel that different.

2. Being dubbed the president of the itty bitty titty committee and being self-conscious ever since.

3. “This fits you..?! It’s so small!” whenever anyone sees your bra.

4. Not being able to fathom spending more than $25 on a bra.

Bras not found in the teen section are apparently really expensive.

5. Cleavage? What is that?

It’s just some kind of sick joke. No push up bra is going to make cleavage appear out of nothing.

6. The dreaded cup gap: the gap between your bra cup and your boob

The thing that gives people an exclusive behind the scenes look at what you got going on in there.

7. Looking like a pubescent boy wearing a sports bra because it squishes down what you DO have.

It’s like an illusion… now you see them, now you don’t!

8. And when you lie down, your boobs vanish.

Another not so amazing disappearing act.

9. Hoping your McDonalds quarter pounder will go straight to your chest.

But of course it mysteriously goes to every part of your body except that region. Awesome.

10. Strapless shirts/dresses give you anxiety.

Yeah, that's going to be on the floor before I even leave the house.

11. But even shirts or dresses that do have straps are usually too long, even when tightened fully.

So you gotta do some arts and crafts to make it work.

12. People assume you’re younger than you are because of your flat chest.

You really don't have to stare at my ID three times longer than any of my friends -- I promise I'm 21.

13. Hearing people tell you “but you don’t even need a bra.”

But not wearing a bra makes them look even smaller… and lets everyone know when I’m a little chilly. I still have nipples, people!

14. Finding something that fits perfectly!….except in the chest.

15. Bikini shopping is the worst because you have to buy a smaller size in the top than the bottom.

16. Being nervous of going to second base with someone and having them feel all the padding in that push up bra.

17. You’re overly fascinated with your large chested friend’s boobs and bras.

How could one girl have so much boob?!

18. That awkward moment when a guy's boobs are bigger than yours.

19. Pushing your boobs together to see how they would look if you actually had cleavage.

And learning to master this skill nonchalantly in selfies.

20. Boob sex?? That’s a thing?!

And accepting that you'll probably never be able to do that. Sorry, future life partner.

21. When a younger girl is better equipped than you.

That's just unfair...

22. Being accidentally elbowed straight in the boob.

There’s no padding to soften the blow, it’s straight to the bone.

23. And hearing people tell you since you a child that “they’ll grow eventually.”

But you're 21 now, they're still the same size as 15 year old you and you're starting to lose hope.

But hey, at least you know you’ll probably never have to say “my eyes are up here” to any creepy peepers or get asked if they're real. You can wear those adorable lace bralettes that have absolutely no support, get away with going braless from time to time, and you don't have to worry as much about back problems later in life. There's nothing that you can really do about having small breasts (except get plastic surgery, but I don't recommend that) so instead of being insecure or constantly wishing they were bigger, we should learn to accept and appreciate our chest as it is. The person you want to be with is not going to see small breasts as a deal breaker and there's plenty of people who prefer small breasts to large ones. You can't make everyone happy, so focus on making you happy with you first.

And always remember:

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
