Pimples, redness, dryness, and wrinkles. These are hard to prevent, hard to get rid of, and hard not to notice when they can drastically alter the appearance of your face. Despite face wash, creams, and acne medication, sometimes these problems just won't go away. While many of your skins imperfections can be a normal part of life, they do not have to go unfixed. One easy, and relatively inexpensive way to improve the health of your skin is through the food you eat! Here are 10 of the best foods to help you keep your skin clear and healthy.

Dark Chocolate

PC

You thought this list was going to be comprised of weird health food supplements and gross remedies, didn't you? Wrong! Dark chocolate, one of my all time favorite sweets, actually has amazing skin benefits. This yummy dessert can make your skin hydrated, reduce redness, and protect your skin from UV damage. From rough skin to sensitive skin to wrinkled skin, dark chocolate can help make even your skins worst days a little bit clearer.

Fatty Fish

PC

Fatty fish, because of its high levels of omega-3 fatty acids, is an extremely healthy food. Not only is great for your body, but it also helps to enhance the complexion of your skin. Omega-3 fatty acids are necessary in keeping your skin moisturized. In addition, fish is a source of vitamin E, an extremely important antioxidant for your skin. Fish can reduce skin dryness, flaking, and therefore make your skin glow!

Avocados

PC

Avocado, similar to fish, contains high levels of healthy fats. The healthy fats found in avocados help keep your skin flexible and hydrated. In addition, avocados have been shown to help protect your skin from UV damage. Sun damage can often cause wrinkles and speed up skins aging process.

Sweet Potatoes

PC

Sweet potatoes are another great food to keep your skin healthy. This vegetable contains beta carotene, which maintains skin health and acts as a natural sunblock, protecting your skin from sun exposure.

Mangos

PC

Mangoes are another food loaded with beta carotene! Therefore, they help your skin repair itself and stay smooth. Also high in vitamin A, mangoes help protect your skin cells and promote cell regeneration. They have a very similar effect to sweet potatoes!

Watermelon

PC

Staying hydrated is one of the most important, and often overlooked, parts of keeping your skin healthy and gorgeous. For those of us who don't drink the recommended 2 liters of water a day, it is crucial to look for other ways to get hydrated. Eating watermelon, because each bite you take is roughly 92% water, is an easy way to hydrate your body and skin. Two cups of watermelon is equivalent to a cup of water!

Strawberries

PC

Strawberries are rich in vitamin C, which can help fight and revitalize oily skin. These berries also contain ellagic acid, which combats collagen destruction and wrinkles. This acid also protects your skin from sun damage!

Kiwi

PC

Kiwi, much likes strawberries, contains high amounts of vitamin C. Vitamin C plays a large role in producing collagen in your body, which gives your skin its elasticity and keeps it supple. Kiwis rejuvenate and firm skin!

Red grapes

PC

Red grapes are known to contain resveratrol, a compound that helps fight the effects of aging in your body and skin. It slows the production of harmful free radicals, which damage skin cells and cause aging.

Green Tea

PC

Lastly, green tea, as it contains many antioxidants, can help protect your skin from damage and aging. Green tea has compounds called catechins that work to improve the roughness and elasticity of skin!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
