I was very fortunate to have two outstanding roommates this year, that quickly became my best friends. That being said, not once did either one of them jump on me when I walked in the door and start licking my face, and even if they had, it would not have been quite the same warm welcome you receive from your dog or cat back at home. They said college is great, no parents, no rules, but they lied. Not being allowed to cuddle up with your pet when you need it most really affects your college experience, and I hope these tips help you to overcome the no pets allowed in the dorms rule!
1. Buy a dog costume for your roommate. Have her put it on, you can take her for a walk, pet her, and introduce her to all your friends.
2. Leave various food items around your room for long periods of time. Before you know it you'll have all sorts of pets!
3. Buy a fish. Feed the fish dog food, and eventually it will grow out of its bowl and become a dog.
4. Tell your RA you're an undercover drug enforcement officer that your job requires you to have a dog.
5. Start cleaning your house the way Cinderella does, signing, and all kinds of birds and squirrels will instantly flock to you.
6. Argue to your dean that your school is lacking school spirit and that it is necessary to have a real life mascot that can live in your room. (Assuming it's legal to own that mascot).
