Do you ever have the yearning to go out and be social, but another part of you would rather just stay in have a night in alone? Do you ever feel excitement and fear at the same time when you are told that you will have to speak in front of people? Chances are, you might be an extroverted- introvert. Being an extroverted- introvert is somewhat different than an ambivert, which is right in the middle of the extrovert to introvert spectrum. There is not an exact balance like an ambivert may experience, instead you may be an introvert most of the time and other times adopt some extrovert characteristics. Sometimes this may be little confusing, and it might be hard to understand yourself at times. But here are 6 things for you to remember.
1. Its Okay to Want Your Alone Time
There will always be activities and parties that you are asked to attend, if you don’t want to go, don’t go. Introverts feed on alone time, sometime it may be just what you need.
2. You Don’t Have to Sacrifice Your Happiness For Others
Don’t feel like you let others down when you do not want to go out with them. If staying at home and enjoying yourself would make you happy, then do what makes you happy.
3. It is okay to Feel Lonely
Although you often want your alone time, you can still have feelings of loneliness. Just find friends or other ways to combat this loneliness, so that you can have a balance.
4. Don’t Be Afraid to Voice Your Opinions
You may sometimes be afraid to speak your mind due to shyness or fear of others not liking what you have to say. This can be a common trait of introverts but the extrovert side of you may want to be vocal, say what you need to say.
5. There is Nothing Wrong With Just Having a Few
Friends
It is common as an introvert to just want to be around a small number of people. Find people who make you feel good and you don't have to worry about having tons of friends.
6. You are Not Alone
There are others that fall into this category so if you feel strange about this personality trait, know that you aren't the only one.
Overall, you may challenge some internal battles with yourself and others may call you bipolar or capricious. The way to combat these issues is to remember you don't have to be perfect, and the most important thing is that you are happy. You never have to force yourself to jump out of your comfort zone if you aren't ready, but if you are ready, fly.
