Summer is finally winding down and it's back-to-school season. Gone are the days of laying on the beach with no responsibilities while late nights of studying start to roll in. Despite the dreaded education system rearing its ugly head, there are so many things to look forward to in the upcoming months.

Here are six reasons as to why Fall is the best season.

1. The Clothes

Call me a typical tumblr girl but I love fall style. Chunky sweaters, cozy scarves, combat boots and leggings work for everyone. Not only does everyone look bomb around you, but it's comfortable and acceptable to dress in an oversized sweater and leggings everyday. Just remember, you can never have too many scarves.

2. Pumpkin EVERYTHING

Yes it's cliche but I'm such a sucker for pumpkin-flavored treats. Pumpkin bars, pumpkin cupcakes, pumpkin pie and of course pumpkin spice lattes make fall my favorite season. To be honest, my blood type is practically pumpkin pie blizzards from Dairy Queen during the month of September.

3. Cool Weather

I'm tired of this humid, 90-degree, soul-melting heat we've had this summer. Fall is the perfect opportunity to go for a walk, sit outside and do homework, or enjoy a cup of coffee without feeling like your insides and outsides are simultaneously being scorched.

4. Bonfires

Nothing beats having a bonfire late at night with a group of friends. Between making a ridiculous amount of s'mores, sharing a beer or two, and laughing about all the funny stories you have to share, bonfires create an environment of happiness and give the chance for you to act carefree.

5. Football Games

I love a good football game. No matter what team you cheer for, it's always fun to sit down with friends or family and a table full of appetizers and scream at the television. Football is also a great excuse to take a three-hour study break and spend time with your friends.

6. Pretty Leaves

Fall is the most beautiful time of year. The leaves all change to beautiful shades of orange, red and yellow, the air smells crisp and clean, and it's the best time to go for a walk to admire it all. Not to mention that the tedious chore of raking leaves usually turns into a hilarious event of jumping into leaf piles.

So while we're still in the last few weeks of August here, everyone just try to hang on until Fall arrives.

I know cannot wait for all the benefits of my favorite season!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
