We are in the final weeks of being home before move in day and classes start. This means that the amount of time you have to spend these free days with your friends and family are coming to an end faster than some of us would like to admit. Get together with your friends and do the things you guys missed most while you were on your separate campuses or were just to busy to do during the semester.

Hang out with your friends!

Most of the ideas on here are going to fall under this category but, get together and catch up. This doesn't have to be complicated, it's as simple as getting together somewhere at the same time.

Throw a bonfire.

If you can't get together during the day, get together at night! Bonfires are the perfect mix of relaxing and fun. You can sit by the fire and talk while making smores, or you can ditch the fire and play games in the dark.

You can even set it up to where you play games towards the beginning and wind down as the night goes on. if it gets too cold or hot outside, you could even move the group inside and play card games, board games, or video games.

Have a movie night.

This one is up to you to decide how creative it gets. You can have a Disney movie marathon, a Marvel or superhero movie marathon, Harry Potter marathon, Star Wars marathon, etc.

You can decorate for the theme if you really want to or you can leave the area how it is and just pull out cozy seating for everyone.

Coming up with what kind of movies you guys want to watch before everyone gets there is a good idea so whoever is hosting can prepare.

You don't want to have pulled out all the boxes of tissues only to be watching comedies all night. You could also order takeout, have a potluck, or just have snacks set out while you watch movies.

Drive around, find new back roads and shortcuts.

If you live in a small town, going cruising with a friend or two or even just by yourself isn't something new. Roll down the windows and turn up the radio and just drive. It's relaxing and adding friends to the mix makes singing and dancing in your seats much more fun.

Go to a concert!

Concerts are always fun but there's just something about summer that makes concerts more fun. Sure the heat gets toy you but by the time the sun sets and it cools down the concert lights hit you and you forget that your kind of dying in the heat. If you want to go to a concert this summer but, don't want to spend a ton of money keep reading to the next idea!

Go to a carnival, fair, or amusement park.

Getting friends together to look at the booths and games for a night is so much fun. You can even get tickets and use them to go on rides if you want. Fairs and carnivals aren't usually that expensive either. A day at an amusement park is also fun when you go with one friend or a group of friends,

You'll have more fun on rides if you don't have to go by yourself or skip your favorite one.

Plus, if you are looking into cheap or even free concerts, check who is performing at the fairs or carnivals near you and see if any of the artists performing those nights sound like something you and/or your friends would like. Sometimes amusement parks have concerts or small performances on certain nights.

Work because you need money.

I know this one isn't as fun as the others, but when you get back to college you will love the extra pocket money. You can even use the money you earn to do fun things with your college friends.

Shop for dorm or class things.

While this one may not be fun for everyone, it's still something you probably need to do.

Stocking up on the things that you were running low on by the end of the year is a must. Plus, while you are out restocking you can also look for some new things to add to your dorm or apartment to make the place feel more like home.

Hang out with your family.

Let's face it. they're going to miss you and you're going to miss them. Spend a night or two (at least) with your family before going back. You can watch a movie or play games, go out and do something or have a night in.

Whatever you do, don't leave without doing this and definitely don't leave without giving your pets some attention because they will miss you too.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
