If you’re like most people right now, your attentions every evening are turned toward the 2016 Rio Olympics. The athleticism presented is simply incredible, regardless of sport. The best of the best gather to compete for the ultimate prize, the medals representing states of optimum talent.
One of my favorite Olympic Games came to a close on Tuesday, with two of the most gifted and artistic gymnasts in the world, Americans Aly Raisman and Simone Biles, receiving the Silver and Gold Medals, respectively, in the Floor Routine. This pattern follows their successes in the All-Around routine as well, with Raisman claiming Silver and Biles claiming Gold. Each of these amazing ladies are extremely accomplished in their gymnastics careers, both holding titles in World Championships as well as the Olympic Games. However, the real medal they have achieved is not one that can be worn around their necks or sported on a fireplace mantle. Rather, they have, together, won a Gold medal in friendship.
From the very beginning, it was clear that Simone and Aly had a close bond. In the days leading up to Rio, they constantly trained together—ensuing tons of moments in which Aly and Simone were beginning their reign as a dynamic duo… and #FriendshipGoals. Aly and Simone’s stellar friendship produced these amazingly cute moments shared on social media:

Because what better representation of friendship is there than cute and silly nicknames! (especially ones reflective of their respective personalities- as explained in the interview below)

They have fun together!
Whether it be taking a much needed relaxation break to cracking each other's backs to enjoying McDonalds and so much more, these two have the best time with one another.
Like all best friends, they sometimes get on each other's nerves

Designing my leotards for championships and classics... Who's got some good ideas!!! Use #GKEliteAly so I can see.... Plus did you guys hear @simonebiles is coming out with a line with GK!!?! Omg yessssss. She's always supported my line so of course I can't wait for hers to come out :)
