Classes are over and finals have begun. This means it's time to make use of the $14 I pay each month for my Netflix subscription. These are some of my favorite shows at the moment, and even some I re-watch all the time.

Atypical

I actually just started watching this show two days ago, and I am already on almost finished with it. Atypical is about a young adult with autism and his family, who are constantly adapting to changes in their lives. This is a great show because it has a captivating plot, but it's also funny. It's serious, but not too serious, if you know what I mean.

The Office (of course)

Who doesn't watch The Office at least once a week? If you live under a rock, and have never seen The Office, it's about a paper company and follows the daily lives of its workers. This is actually a good show to play in the background while doing homework.

Shameless

This one is really interesting. It's about a lower-class family and their struggles with life. The plot is good and the humor is even better. Make sure to set aside a lot of time if you're going to start watching this because you will NOT stop.

You

If you've heard anything about this show, you might be a little creeped out. Basically, a guy becomes obsessed with this girl he meets and stalks her. Like hardcore. It's really different and interesting if you're tired of watching love-entwined shows or cooking channels.

Santa Clarita Diet

This one is really, really interesting. The main character eats a special, magical oyster, which turns her into an undead zombie, who survives off fresh human flesh. The show follows her family as it struggles to adapt to her new lifestyle. This is actually one of the funniest shows I've watched in a long time, and I would definitely recommend.

Black Mirror

Apparently I'm just really into weird shows. Black Mirror is basically criticizing society's dependence on technology. Each episode is in a new world, with different characters. If you like sci-fi, then you should definitely give this show a try.

Altered Carbon

Set in the 23rd century, Altered Carbon is about a man who has been sent to the future, which he tried to stop. Souls are transferable and everything is ruled by technology. Again, if you're into sci-fi, you'll love this.

There you go, a complete list of awesome shows to keep your mind off the stress of finals. You're welcome.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
