1. Gaucho Pants
So we all owned them in the early 2000s, and no, I am not talking about the Motorola Razr. I am talking about gaucho pants. The pants that may have felt more comfortable than a modern snuggie, but unfortunately looked like the love child between a parachute and a scarf. Although history may repeat itself, it is rather unlikely that these pants will be making an appearance any time soon.
2. Track Suits
Why bring a towel when you could just wear one?
3. Ponchos
Another wonderful and shapeless blanket that was worn by nearly all tween girls. Instead of a fashionable sweater, they appeared to be more of a DIY project gone horribly wrong. However, their level of comfort has yet to be replicated.
4. Snap Bracelets
This trendy little plastic accessory became popular when everyone's friends were having bowling birthday parties since they could be purchased at any bowling alley vending machine or with several tickets at any arcade. They came in many colors and prints. (My personal favorite was the cheetah.) Although many of us have graduated to non-plastic bracelets, these will always have a special place in our adolescent hearts.
5. The POOF
That time when you NEEDED side bangs, and quickly realized you could never see or do anything without attempting to pin your bangs behind your ear, lead to the development of the ever so practical hair bump. This was the go-to style for girls growing out their hair. It was complete with bobby pins and a fully exposed forehead. Snooki took it to all new hair heights, but honestly it's probably for the best that trend has been laid to rest.
6. High Heeled Flip Flops
Forget wedges, stilettos, and everything in between because, when you have access to these ankle breaking foam creations, anything is possible. These were the kind of shoes you wore because it gave you a few extra inches to meet the minimum height at Disneyland... or any other theme park.
P.S. Toe rings sold separately.
7. Ed Hardy
Skulls, flowers, weird animals and gems oh my! No outfit was complete without an Ed Hardy cut-up tee to match those low-rise jeans. Besides if you ever got lost, a trail of fallen jewels would never be too far behind you.
