So you say you are an FSU fan, but you don't exactly know everything going on with the Seminoles. Here is a list of things about FSU football that you may not know.
Doak Campbell Stadium is currently under construction. The stadium renovations can be watched here. Theoretically, the new renovations could cause Doak to echo more, making the stadium louder. And who doesn't love a louder war chant?
Florida State is losing a lot of talent, but the consensus best defender will be returning. His name is Jalen Ramsey, and you should get familiar with him because he is an absolute beast. Defensive players never get as much credit as they deserve, and Ramsey deserves a whole lot of credit.
The candidates to replace Jameis Winston are Sean Maguire, John Franklin III, J.J. Cosentino, Kai Locksley, De'Andre Johnson, and Deondre Francois.
Florida State currently holds the number two recruiting class, according to ESPN. Three of the aforementioned candidates to replace Jameis are in this recruiting class. Seminoles recruiting classes now go by the name "Tribe" following the year of their high school graduation. For example, this years class is #Tribe15 and next year's class is #Tribe16, and so on.
Florida State has two offensive coordinators. Their names are Lawerence Dawsey and Randy Sanders. Dawsey also coaches the quarterbacks, and Sanders coaches the wide receivers.
The Seminoles recently made a hire that will have a huge impact not only on the field, but also for recruiting. The 'Noles hired Brad Lawing, a defensive ends coach, who is well known for developing great defensive ends. The best part? He is a former Gators coach, and knows how to recruit in the state of Florida very well. This hire will have major long term and short term impacts.
In the fight song, there are a few people (names have been omitted to protect the guilty) that like to yell "what what" after the F-L-O-R-I-D-A S-T-A-T-E part. This is not, I repeat, this is not part of the fight song and never will be. So do not ever say it. Please.
Florida State will have to rely heavily on the run game in 2015, and they have some workhorses in the backfield. Depending on health, the 'Noles should lean heavily on Dalvin Cook, Mario Pender, and Jacques Patrick.
The wide receivers will be headlined by Travis Rudolph and Ermon Lane in 2015. But keep an eye on 2015 commit George Campbell. The consensus five-star recruit is already enrolled in classes here in Tallahassee and is working out with the team. He will participate in spring football and will be a step ahead of the other incoming receivers. Based on talent alone, Campbell is already a step ahead of the other receiver recruits. Look for him to make a big impact on the field in 2015.
