There are lots of scary things that we force ourselves to face during Halloween, but sometimes you get to that point where you realize that you face the scariest things every day. If you want to give a college student nightmares, here are some ideas of what to tell them.
1. Registration time is coming.
One of the most horrifying parts of school? Trying to sign up for classes. This is a true bloodbath, every man for himself time in which no one is ever safe.
2. Your meal plan has almost run out.
This can happen in a variety of ways depending on how your school's meal plan works, but there's always that scary time of year when you start to find ways to ration food.
3. You forgot to fill out that one form that renews your financial aid/keeps you in school/gives you a place to live.
Emails are sneaky and tricky like ghosts, and sometimes they just float away. Personally I get way too many from my school and they range from "please take this fun survey to win a free piece of candy" to "if you don't send this back in 20 minutes you can't go here anymore".
4. Your roommate is leaving for the weekend.
This depends a little on how close you are. For me, my roommate and I have both been known to wake up in the middle of the night, call to the other person, and then realize that there's no one there.
5. You have a group project
A true death sentence. Being in college doesn't mean people are more responsible and will actually do their work, it means that there are no parents to nag their lazy kids and no teachers to run to and talk about the problem child. We are "old enough to deal with it ourselves."
