Admit it, we’re all guilty of stalking so many Instagram makeup accounts that we can’t even keep track of them. Many of these insta-famous role models, like Huda Kattan and Kylie Jenner, are popular for being the first ones to show the world the newest trends for makeup styles. Since we’re not all as rich as Kylie Jenner, I’ve found a way for us to copy my three favorite Instagram beauty trends while saving tons of money.
1. Matte Lips
The hottest makeup trend of the year has to be matte lipstick. The most famous brands out there, such as Kylie Jenner’s Lip Kits and Huda Beauty’s Lip Contour, are not only expensive, but also hard to get. Kylie’s $29 Lip Kits sell out within minutes of being launched. Huda Beauty’s Lip Contour isn’t sold in the US yet, and is estimated to be at least $20 when it starts to sell here. Thankfully, I’ve found an easier and cheaper way to steal their looks, and all you need are moisturized lips and a lip pencil. Matte lipstick looks great, but when your lips are chapped, it can start to look messy and cheap. First, mix together some brown sugar with honey or olive oil to exfoliate your lips. Once the scrub is rinsed off, apply a bit of chapstick or Vaseline. Then, outline your lips and fill them in with NYX’s Slim Lip Pencil. It’s that easy! The NYX Slim Lip Pencil comes in so many colors that you can easily find matches to Kylie’s Lip Kit colors. With this pencil being so affordable at only $3.50 per pencil, you can get 8 different colors of this pencil for the same price as one Kylie Lip Kit. So treat yourself and copy all of Kylie’s looks by spending less than $30!
2. Bold Lashes
Huda Kattan is most famous for her Huda Beauty False Lashes. False eyelashes can give your makeup look that extra “wow” to really make your eyes pop. Finding the perfect false eyelashes can be hard. Those $3 drugstore lashes always look too fake and fall off, but you’re not sure if you want to spend over $20 on a pair of eyelashes that you’ll probably only wear once to that party next weekend. Well, I’ve fallen in love with the false lashes from The Vintage Cosmetic Company. They come in all different styles, from daytime to dramatic looks, just like Huda Beauty’s lashes. These lashes look really natural and are reusable, which gives you the bold lash look for a lot less. You can get them for around $7 each or you can get a set of all five of The Vintage Cosmetic Company’s looks for around $23, which is the same price as one of Huda Beauty’s False Lashes!
3. Perfect Brows
I don’t know about you, but I am addicted to watching eyebrow tutorials on Instagram. After hours of watching people perfect their brows, I decided to give mine a try. However, spending $32 on Benefit’s Bow Zing Kit wasn’t something I was willing to do. Fortunately, you can make your own eyebrow kit with bareMinerals $12 Essential Brow Color and Ardell’s $5 Duo Brow Brush. For only $17, you can have perfect brows and have some extra cash in your wallet.
