Close to three months ago, relationship rumors surrounding Russell Wilson and Ciara were true. The Seahawks quarterback and R&B songstress have yet to reveal exactly how they met, but what the general public does know is that this couple is almost too good to be true. Because of this, many people have speculated that their relationship is nothing more than a PR move to boost Ciara's album sales and bolster Wilson's celebrity status. Whether the relationship is real or not, there are definitely some interesting details concerning the couple and their practices.
Recently, many people were shocked to find out that Russell and Ciara, after three months of dating, have yet to engage in any form of sexual act. While sex does not make a relationship, it is a very important component when it comes to keeping both parties happy. Wilson claims that he asked Ciara to abstain from sex in order to prove that their love for each other is true while respecting his religious wishes. Personally, I find this piece of information to be somewhat hard to believe. Not to generalize, but there are numerous temptations out there for a man in Russell Wilson's position. I am not saying that their abstinence is fake, but it does seem like it fits in with suspicions that this is a PR romance.
For those who do believe this coupling is genuine, Ciara and Russell do seem to make a perfect couple. While Ciara is starting to climb out of the pit of music irrelevancy and getting back to actually selling albums, Wilson is becoming an even bigger name in football and the media.
In response to this budding romance, many individuals have taken to Twitter and Instagram to pay their respect. From "#RelationshipGoals" to one of the ugliest name combinations yet — "#RussCi" — the two have risen to new heights and merged fans of the sporting and music industries. Thankfully, these same individuals seem to be giving Ciara's music a new try, seeing as how her latest music video has over 4 million views.
At the end of the day, I do hope that this is a true relationship for two reasons. The first has to do with Ciara's ex-boyfriend, Future. Not only do they have a child together, but Future has also been making media rounds in promotion of his new album, not letting a question concerning "RussCi" go unanswered. If this relationship proves to be false, Future is going to have a field day in the press and their child is going to have to wonder why Russell is not around anymore — since Ciara thought it was a good idea to introduce the two so early. Secondly, the reveal of this fakery could mean that Ciara falls from being a moderately successful artist to begging radio stations to play her latest single. Whether this is real or not, we will be watching, listening, and reading about RussCi for the remainder of 2015.
