Last Friday, my new iPhone 6s arrived in the mail nearly a month after ordering it, and let me say, it was definitely worth the wait. Compared to the iPhone 5 I got my junior year of high school, the 6s is a big step up. I'm not a technology expert my any means, but Apple's new design offers some great new (and easy to use) features, emanating the quality and efficiency the company seeks to provide.
Sleek, durable design.
The back and sides are made from aluminum used, according to Apple, "in the aerospace industry," and the screen is made from the strongest glass available to any smart phone user. Plus, rose gold has been added to the previously available colors of silver, gold, and gray.
3D Touch.
If you want to preview an email without changing screens, you simply press on the message. To view the full message, you press a little harder and it takes you right there, without any extra tapping. This feature also works for photos, websites, and addresses.
Improved camera.
Every generation of iPhone seems to have a better camera than the last. The qualities of both the back and front cameras have improved, which means amazing game day photos and selfies. Also, the 6s now has Live Photos, where if you take a picture of a moving object, such as your dog wagging its tail, when you press on the photo afterwards it comes to life.
It's fast.
Especially compared to my old phone, the iPhone 6s allows you to send messages and surf the web very quickly. With an A9 microchip and LTE Advanced, sending that last-minute email to your professor or Googling a homework question is easy and efficient.
Touch ID.
This works so well, and saves me the annoyance of having to type in a passcode every time I want to check a text. You can also use this feature to pay for items through Apple Pay instead of entering your credit card number.
Clearer calls.
The sound quality during phone calls is great, thanks to Voice over LTE. FaceTime is also significantly better, as the person's voice and image sound and look perfect.
Overall, the iPhone 6s boasts some unique features that I love using already. With its capability to search messages or websites quickly as well as take excellent photos, this phone is perfect for the busy college student.
